Infinix Hot 6 Review And Specification: Six Times Hot

Infinix Hot 6: Remember the infinix zero? The squared mid range smartphone that took the Android world by surprise, boasting incredible specifications found in mostly high end Android phones at the time, at an affordable pre-order price of N18,999?, Well, it’s been four years and quite a lot has happened since then. There has been hits and misses but in recent times, infinix has been dropping hits back to back. Let me quickly introduce, without wasting time, the sequel to the successful hot 5, infinix hot 6.

The infinix hot 6, like most infinix phones comes in two variations. The hot 6, and the hot 6 pro. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t get your drawers in a bunch. The major difference between the two is basically the replacement of a Mediatek processor for a Snapdragon and of course a bigger screen.

  • 6.0-inch, TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1440 X 720 pixels
  • 18:9 Aspect Ratio
  • Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 CPU with 2GB/3GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB built-in storage, up to 128GB with a memory card
  • Dual 13MP + 2MP rear camera and 5MP front camera
  • 4G LTE Data
  • Facial Recognition
  • Fingerprint Sensor (Rear)
  • 4, 000mAh non removable Li-Po battery

The hot 6 sports a gorgeous 6 inches IPS display with resolutions running high at 720×1440 PPI.  The sleek mobile also boasts the trending 18:19 aspect ratio. This means that movies and games can be viewed on a bigger screen estate. Outdoor visibilities are okay when the display is cranked to maximum brightness. Viewing angles are crisp and colour representation are pretty much okay without looking washed out. The navigation buttons on the Hot 6 are placed on screen.  This is to give room for the extended screen aspect ratio and also reduce the bezels on the phone giving the device a pleasing to the eye look.

Moving on to the design and build, the body of the hot 6 is entirely made of polycarbonate. It’s plastic alright, but that shouldn’t get you worried, most phones these days are made of the same. So long as you don’t use your mobile to take aiming practices, it should exceed it’s useful life span. On the back of the device, the twin cameras are placed at the top left corner along with the dual flash. The finger print sensor is placed just above the middle of the device while the infinix brand name sits at the bottom.

The infinix hot 6 Camera is a dual affair. A 13mp and a 2mp camera with a led flashlight which doubles also as a torchlight. On the front is a 5mp selfie camera with a wide viewing angle to accommodate more. The hot 6 pro boasts of a selfie light too kept side by side with the proximity sensor. Images are crisp in day time and more than normal when taken at night, thanks to the LED flash.

The battery on the device is a whooping 4000mah with a quick charge ability. The battery is guaranteed to last for up to two days of moderate usage.

The infinix hot 6 runs Android Oreo out of the box atop a infinix XOS hummingbird. The hummingbird skin is the third iteration in a promising line of skins.

The Hot 6 houses the Snapdragon 425 chip from Qualcomm with Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-cores of processor here reaches a clock speed of 1.4GHz with 28nm process technology. While the Adreno 308 handles graphics. It also packs a 2GB RAM  for multitasking with a memory speed of 667MHz. There’s also an option of a 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM on the pro.
